Book Launch on Friday
In conjunction with McGill-Queen's University Press, the Library is pleased to be hosting the launch of an important new book this Friday, September 27 at 4 o'clock. The Grand Regulator: the miseducation of Nova Scotia's teachers, 1838-1997, by former Saint Mary's faculty member George Perry, traces the development of teacher training programs in the province, from their inception to the recent past. Particular attention is paid to the role of government policy within the sociological history of Nova Scotia. As well as reading from his work, Dr. Perry will discuss the motivation behind it and the process of researching and writing it. This event will be held in the Library's classroom on the main floor. All are welcome.
